Come Explore Maine’s Coastal Habitat and Marine Life

The Gulf of Maine is home to uncountable bizarre and otherworldly creatures that live beneath the waves, atop the waves, and along our shores. It’s also home to numerous coastal communities whose residents make their living from the sea and visitors from near and far who enjoy our beaches, marshes, and waterways.

The mission of the Oceanarium is to bring a small piece of this exotic world to the surface so visitors can gain a window into the everyday lives of these incredible creatures and the lives of people who depend on them.

Museum Shop

The Oceanarium Museum Shop GoodsThe Oceanarium Museum Shop GoodsThe Oceanarium museum store is curated by Celeste Deeny, our store manager. It features an impressive array of treasures for kids and adults. Her inspiration in choosing items comes from being a mom who encouraged her children to learn through discovery and play.

The museum store is filled with toys and books for children that inspire exploration in nature, creativity, and being outdoors. We also have a wonderful selection of locally-sourced food and gifts from makers around Maine, including home goods, T-shirts, accessories, books, and art. The products we sell are high quality and eco-friendly.
