The Oceanarium and Education Center

Student Programming

Student Programming

The Mission of the Oceanarium is to provide educational exhibits and programs for all ages on local ecology, marine biology and research, citizen science, dark skies, fisheries and aquaculture, and STEM education in partnership with Maine schools. Our student program is available for grades K-12.

Educator-guided campus tour

Over the course of two hours, students can learn through exploration while on a guided tour of the aquarium, marine museum, and salt marsh trail. Our program focuses on the animals that inhabit the Gulf of Maine, local ecology of the tidal salt marshes, and interactions within coastal communities. Students will meet our animals up close with a hands-on touch tank experience. Students spend the day indoors and outdoors with Oceanarium educators and aquarists. We invite you to stay after your group’s program to enjoy your lunch in our courtyard, walk the salt marsh trail, or play on our playground boat.

Scheduling

Student programming is offered starting April 1, 2024. Scheduling inquires can be sent to fun@theoceanarium.org.
