Each year, we invite a local artist to create a design for our Maine Ocean Festival. This unique artwork is often inspired by coastal communities, the ocean, and aquatic creatures, and is featured on our t-shirts and posters, which are available on-site during the festival and in the Museum Shop for the rest of the season. The festival celebrates our oceans and the diverse life that inhabits them, aiming to inspire exploration and conservation in every visitor. We are pleased to have Cathy Segee as our artist for the 2026 Maine Ocean Festival!
Cathy Segee loves to immerse herself into creative projects, such as; painting, sewing gardening, making torch-fired enamel jewelry, and playing music. She plays the Irish flute, tin whistles, and the Celtic harp. You can find her playing Irish music with various groups in pubs and venues around central Maine. She loves to travel and see new things to help inspire new creative ideas. She is the mother of three grown children and lives in Old Town, Maine with her husband, Bruce and dogs, Luna and Ivy.
